Location & Facility Details

The Fleet Services Bureau is a full-service maintenance and repair facility located, with the Training Bureau, at the Douglas County Joint Use Facility, just west of Twenty Mile on Plaza.

Fleet Services is comprised of 5,000 square feet of service bays, tool storage, a welding and fabrication room, and a dedicated vehicle maintenance parts room.

Operational Functions

  • The Fleet Services Bureau provides various operational functions, including:
  • Preventative maintenance and service scheduling
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
  • Providing parts for apparatus and equipment
  • Purchasing and maintaining up-to-date tools and equipment
  • Up-to-date training for all personnel
  • Assigned personnel that provide 24-hour on-call services during major incidents and weather-related emergencies, as well as availability during holidays and after-hours
  • Fire pump and apparatus maintenance training for all promoted and acting engineers
  • Annual National Fire Protection Agency testing for all fire pumps, aerial, tank-to-pump gallons per minute, electrical systems, gross vehicle weight ratings for all emergency vehicles, annual transport inspections, and emissions and opacity testing.
