Emergency Services
The Emergency Services Division exists to provide community members of the South Metro Fire Rescues' district with a top-tier, all hazards response to calls for service. Operations, Emergency Medical Services, Fleet, Special Operations, and our Emergency Communicators (Dispatchers) all work towards the common goal of supporting the organization's mission through a collaborative approach that ensures the community's needs are met with consistency and efficiency.

Operations Division
Operations supports, leads, and manages our line personnel providing service to nearly 300 square miles across 30 fire stations. Five geographical areas of coverage, or Battalions, along with more than 600 firefighters respond to over 50,000 calls for service annually. South Metro's men and women are highly trained in fire suppression strategies and tactics that allow for the prioritization of life safety and property conservation.

Emergency Medical Services
Emergency Medical Services is delivered to the citizens of the district in a congruent and streamlined manner, making South Metro the largest fire-based, EMS provider in the State of Colorado. SMFR provides medical transport through our highly trained Firefighter Paramedics and EMT-Basics, emerging as an industry leader through outcome-based medicine and cardiac arrest survivability. Innovative practices such as point-of-care ultrasound have paved the way to improved patient outcomes and better chances of survival for our citizens in need.

Line Support Division
The Line Support Division consists of the Emergency Communications, Fleet Services, and Special Operations Bureaus. Bureau Directors provide direct management of the Emergency Communications and Fleet Services. Special Operations consists of 11 Operational, Deployable, and Support Teams whose day-to-day operations are managed by Team Coordinators.
