Overview
The Fire Investigation Section is responsible for investigating the circumstances surrounding fires that occur in our district and attempting to determine the origin (where the fire started) and cause (how the fire started). Investigations are conducted in accordance with nationally recognized standards as well as local, state, and federal laws. Fire Investigators at SMFR also follow up on fire code concerns raised by the public or our fire suppression personnel.
